Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, has entered into a partnership with the University of the Free State, South Africa, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening academic and research collaboration.
The agreement, which was formalized during a ceremony held at OAUSTECH, is expected to promote joint initiatives in agriculture, science, and technology.
It signals a shared commitment by both institutions to enhance global academic standards and innovation.
The MoU outlines several key areas of cooperation, including collaborative research efforts, academic exchange programmes for staff and students, as well as joint training and capacity-building initiatives such as workshops and seminars.

Speaking at the event, OAUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Professor Temi Ologunorisa, described the partnership as a significant step towards expanding the university’s academic reach and research potential.
He expressed optimism that the collaboration would create new opportunities for innovation and institutional growth.
In her remarks, the Acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the University of the Free State, Professor Anthea Rhoda, commended the partnership, noting its potential to foster mutual development and elevate the academic standards of both universities.
