Web television series House of Cards to finish without Kevin Spacey over sexual misconduct

Web television series House of Cards will not have its star Kevin Spacey in the final season over allegations of sexual harassment against him.
The American political thriller will move forward without him, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said during a conference on Monday.
Netflix suspended production after Spacey was accused of making unwanted sexual advances on a 14-year-old boy in 1986.
The final episodes will instead focus on co-star Robin Wright (pictured below).
The streaming giant responded to the allegations last month by asserting that it would “not be involved with any further production of House of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey.”
The 58-year-old actor plays the diabolical protagonist President Frank Underwood in the show.
Netflix also decided not to move forward with another film starring him.
At least eight people that have worked Spacey's Netflix show have described a "toxic" work environment created by him.
The new announcement was made in the backdrop of growing allegations of sexual misconduct against powerful figures in Hollywood as well as the world of politics.
Campaigners and rights activists stress that many victims of sexual abuse and exploitation decline to report the incident due to fear, shame, and worry about damage to their career.
Sexual allegations against disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein initially sparked the latest wave of sexual harassment and assault revelations in various industries, including in the media and politics.
The US and the UK are specifically struggling to deal with a series of sexual abuse scandals that have raised doubts about how institutions, including the church, sports teams and the news media respond to those vulnerable to abuse.
