US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner heading to Palestine

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner will visit Palestine this week in a stated effort to broker peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
The senior aide is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday for meetings in Jerusalem al-Quds and Ramallah, a White House official said Tuesday.
Trump's international envoy, Jason Greenblatt, will also join meetings involving Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu among other high-ranking officials from both sides, said White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
"They're going to meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu and senior officials on his team, they're going to meet with President Abbas and officials on his team later in the week and I think part of it is how to make incremental change that results in a lasting peace," he told reporters.
"Part of this is really to utilize the trust that has been built up and not have these negotiations out in public," he added. "But I think they had a very successful visit when the president was over there and they're going to continue to build on that," he said.
Kushner personally intervened on a recent arms deal with Saudi Arabia ahead of Trump’s visit to the kingdom.
The US president, who visited the region last month, has apparently put Kushner and Greenblatt in charge of the issue.
