Progressive CNN commentator Van Jones rips Hillary Clinton campaign, Democratic National Committee for 2016 failure

Progressive CNN commentator Van Jones censures Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton as well as the Democratic National Committee for their 2016 loss against Donald Trump, complaining that they have wasted a billion dollars in the process.

"The Hillary Clinton campaign did not spend their money on white workers, and they did not spend it on people of color. They spent it on themselves," Jones told a packed house at The People's Summit at McCormick Place in Chicago on Saturday. "They spent it on themselves, let's be honest."

Clinton lost the 2016 election to the GOP nominee, who defied most of the polls conducted ahead of the Election Day.

"Let's be honest," Jones continued. "They took a billion dollars, a billion dollars, a billion dollars, and set it on fire, and called it a campaign. That wasn't a campaign. That's not a campaign."

'Quit getting rich!'

Apart from winning the White House, the GOP also managed to remain in control of both the Senate and the House.

The commentator further asserted that those responsible for the loss in the DNC now continue to create divide in the anti-Trump movement.

"And now they want us to fight about whether black folks or white workers or Latinos or any other group should get the money," he said. "First of all, you need to give the money back to the people, period. Quit getting rich off people's struggles."

Trump’s campaign had been hit with many controversies since its inception in early 2015. But he still managed to stun the world by defeating the heavily-favored candidate, Clinton, in the election.

Trump won the presidential election with 306 votes in the Electoral College, 36 more than he required for winning the White House.

However, numerous polls taken before the presidential election showed that Clinton and Trump were deeply unpopular politicians, while Clinton’s Democratic primary rival, Bernie Sanders, enjoyed very high popularity.

"A billion dollars for consultants. A billion dollars for pollsters. A billion dollars for a data operation, that was run by data dummies who couldn't figure out that maybe people in Michigan needed to be organized," Jones said.
